This time, we will explore the process of generating data for "Technology field convergence and business linkage analysis" using NTIS data, importing it into NetMiner, and analyzing the results.
Technology Field Network Analysis
Researchers can utilize "Similarity Relationships between Projects" for purposes such as "identifying related projects" and "preventing project redundancy".

The "Similarity Relationships between Fields" can be derived using the "Technology/Research field" information from project data.
Researchers can utilize "Similarity Relationships between Fields" for identifying "convergence connection points" and detecting "emerging research fields".
How to import the "Project-Related Technology Field" Linkset Data into NetMiner?
<Project Data - After Preprocessing>
Each project in the project data can have up to three Science and Technology Standard Classification codes.
This means that the project data follows a Linked list structure, where a single source node (project) is associated with multiple target nodes (classification codes).
The method for importing Linked List structured data into NetMiner is as follows.

Since the "Project-Related Technology Field" network is a 2-mode network, you can successfully import it into NetMiner by clicking 2-mode Network.
Now, let's explore how to convert the imported "Project-Related Technology Field" network in NetMiner into a network of related technology fields.
1. Transform > Mode > 2-mode Network
2. Select the 2-mode Network to be converted into a 1-mode Network
3. Select Overlap (Sub*Sub)
Analysis Result
Now, I will discuss the results of the network analysis using the "Related Technology Field Network" data.

It was observed that convergence mainly occurred within the same classification, particularly in the Management/Economics fields,
and that they were indirectly connected in two steps to the Society/Humanity/Women and Science/Technology/Policy fields.
<Technology Convergence Cluster>
The following are the results of the "Technology Convergence Cluster" analysis.
Clusters with mixed colors represent points where heterogeneous technology convergence occurs across different major categories.
Upon examining some of these clusters in detail, it was observed that CO₂ storage technology (Energy/Resources) serves as a bridge, connecting the Energy/Resources, Mechanical, Geography/Region, and Agriculture/Forestry/Fisheries/Food technologies.
