- Usage
Type of Usage is classified as Student Use (as an individual for class), Academy Use (as an institution), Academy Use (as an individual), Commercial Use (as an institution) and Commercial Use (as an individual)
Student (as an Individual for class)
(1) Licensee
Licensee must be a student enrolled in a degree-granting educational institution or participating in a continuing education program at a degree-granting educational institution. The term of the Student License expires automatically immediately after the duration of such enrollment or participation.
(2) Installation
Programs may only be installed and operated on not more than two (2) individual, standalone computers that Licensee owns or leases, provided (i) the Programs are only accessible to, and operated by, Licensee, and (ii) Licensee has provided machine-specific identification for such computers through the registration and activation process. Network installation is and use prohibited. Licensee may run multiple simultaneous Program sessions on not more than two (2) separate standalone computers.
(3) User
Licensee, who is an enrolled student of a degree-granting educational institution or participating in a continuing education program at a degree-granting educational institution.
(4) Use
The installation and use of the Program by Licensee for the purpose of meeting classroom requirements of courses and study offered by the degree-granting educational institution. Any other use is expressly prohibited.
Academic (as an Institution)
(1) Licensee
Licensee must be a degree-granting educational institution. Research and development divisions and centers of universities, government agencies and other not-for-profit organizations do not qualify for Academic Institution License.
(2) Installation
There are two alternatives of installation: Designated User Installation and Designated Computer Installation. Licensee must choose between one of the two types of installation, not both. In either case, network installation and use are prohibited.
a. Designated User Installation Type
Programs may only be installed and operated on one or more individual, standalone computers, provided the Programs are only accessible to, and operated by, the Designated User for that License. Licensee may only designate one user access to or use of the Programs under each License. The locations of the standalone computers used by the Designated User to run the Programs are not limited; the computers may be located at work, home, or in a laboratory. A Designated User may run multiple simultaneous Program sessions on not more than two (2) separate standalone computers.
b. Designated Computer Installation Type
Licensee may install the Programs on a single, designated, standalone computer, provided the Programs are only operated from that computer’s console by only one individual at any given time.
(3) User
All enrolled students and employees (faculty and academic staff) of the Licensee who are authorized by Licensee to use the Programs. As used herein, “employees” excludes subcontractors and consultants of the Licensee.
(4) Use
The installation and use of the Programs by Licensed Users for the purpose of
- in the case of employees (faculty and academic staff), teaching, and noncommercial, academic research in their ordinary course as Licensee’s employees;
- in the case of enrolled students, meeting classroom requirements of courses and study offered by the Licensee.
Any other use is expressly prohibited.
Academic (as an Individual)
(1) Licensee

(2) Installation

- Term
Type of Term is classified as Quarter (3Months), Semester (6Months), Annual (1Year) and Perpetual.
Quarter and Semester are available for Student Use only.
Annual is available for Academy Use.
Perpetual is available for Academy Use and Commercial Use.
It can be summarized as follows.
Student Use: Quarter, Semester
Academy Use: Annual, Perpetual
Commercial Use: Perpetual
Discount rate of 20% is applied to Annual for successive Annual contract after 1year on.
Notice
If the type of Term is Perpetual, ESD (Electronic Software Delivery) is not supported for security and hardware key is required to execute program in addition to the software key as is required for other type of license. CD package and hardware key will be delivered by door-to-door express delivery service.
- Data Size
The Licensing program of NetMiner 3 offers wide range of data size (size of node) to give economized best-fit options. There are 4 levels of data size: Tiny, Small, Medium and Large. The maximum size of nodes at each level is as follows.
Tiny: 100
Small: 1,000
Medium: 10,000
Large: 100,000
Available data size for each type of Usage is as follows.
Student Use: Tiny, Small
Academy Use: Small, Medium, Large
Commercial Use: Small, Medium, Large
Notice
Data Size does not guarantee the performance of the software. Data Size is the maximum size of nodes allowed to import into NetMiner. The performance of NetMiner 3 depends on the capacity of the system NetMiner 3 is installed on.
- Single-User License only
Network License is not included to the licensing program of NetMiner 3. Only Single-User License is available. Single-User License allows you to install NetMiner 3 on a single work station with a local license file.
